Garden Coaching & Design

 

A personal garden coach is for those who want to do their own gardening and landscaping, but need help getting started and knowing how to do specific projects. 

 

A cross between a consultant, designer, and a landscaper, a personal garden coach has the goal of saving you MONEY, TIME and, LABOR. By making informed decisions when you are shopping for plants, and hard-goods likes soils, fertilizers and tools, we want to see you succeed and eventually not need us anymore! 

 

A garden coach—or mentor or tutor—points you in the right direction and shows you how to get started. Think of a visit from a garden coach as a horticultural house call.

 

Services Include:

 

• Plant identification and discussion of appropriate plants for your site and northeast Florida

• Garden design - informal plans for existing or new landscapes

• Validation or enhancement of your design ideas

• Sourcing and purchasing plants – I can provide plants, take you shopping or just make suggestions.  If you already have purchased plants, I can help with placement of them to encourage success

• Stage your yard for an upcoming sale or party

• Build container arrangements around your pool, home or courtyard

• Demonstrations such as pruning and planting

• Developing a written action and maintenance plan including pest and disease solutions

• Advice on what they can do versus what requires a professional 

• Assistance in interviewing and selecting landscape contractors and supervising their work
